Prof Francine Diener who has been visiting CIIT gave a presentation on “Mathematical Modeling of Genes Regulatory Networks (ODE for Biology)”. The one and a half hour presentation was followed by question and answer session in which numerous Faculty members asked their queries regarding the lecture. The presentation was attended by 45 people including senior and young Faculty Members from Dept of Mathematics. Ways of establishing possible linkage between University of Nice Sophia-Antipolis, Nice and CIIT were discussed and Prof Marc also explained the French Educational system. Later in the day, the delegation was again led to the seminar hall where Prof Marc Diener conducted an in depth, comprehensive and extensive presentation on Erasmus Mundus(EMMA). Prof Marc Diener and Prof Francine Diener are in fact in charge of the Erasmus Mundus Action 2 partnership EMMA-West in the capacity of Coordinators. Around 40 people including Heads of various Departments, Young Faculty Members and senior students from all disciplines attended the presentation. A myriad of questions were raised after the presentation including the age limit for applying to post doc and doctoral programme and regarding inclusion of new members from Europe.
