French Delegation’s Visit to CIIT, Islamabad December 9, 2009
A three member French delegation comprising of Mr. Dominique Henault, Director General, EGIDE France, Ing. Sandie Favier, Attaché for Science and Technology, and Dr. Oliver Bergossi, Higher Education and Scientific Attaché, Embassy of the French Republic, Islamabad visited COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Chak Shehzad, Islamabad at 11:00 am on December 9, 2009. The delegation was received by the committee comprising of Dr. Muhammad Azim, Director Academics; Dr. Saleem Asghar, Dean Graduate Studies and Research and Dr. Khalid Rashid, Advisor International Liaison Officer, CIIT Islamabad.
The delegation had a short visit of the campus and the facilities established at different labs. After the short visit a formal meeting was held in the Conference Room at Academic Block – I. Dr. S.M. Junaid Zaidi, Rector CIIT welcomed and introduced the participants. Mr. Tahir Naeem, Director (P&D) gave a formal presentation about the growth of CIIT, the academic programs being offered at its different campuses and the future agenda, the CIIT is pursuing for. He also briefed the delegation about the Faculty Development Program of CIIT. The delegation appreciated the Faculty Development Program of CIIT and discussed options to help CIIT in getting its scholars placed in the French universities, and facilitating short term visits of the faculty from CIIT to France in collaboration with Embassy of the French Republic, Islamabad. The delegation appreciated and thanked the efforts of International Liaison Office of CIIT for facilitating and coordinating the visit.
