A total of 752 graduates of different programmes were awarded degrees by the chief guest and Rector CIIT Dr. Syed Muhammad Junaid Zaidi(S.I). Abdus Sattar Edhi, famous Philanthropist and social worker, was awarded an honorary Doctoral Degree by University of Bedfordshire UK during the convocation. Vice Chancellor Professor Les Ebdon CBE Bedfordshire University, UK conferred this degree to Mr.Abdus Sattar Edhi.</span></td> </tr> <tr style="font-size: 12pt"> <td colspan="2" style="padding-right: 9px; padding-left: 9px; font-size: 13px; padding-bottom: 9px; color: gainsboro; padding-top: 9px; font-family: Arial; text-align: justify" valign="top"> Addressing the graduating students, the Rector CIIT Dr.S.M.Junaid Zaidi (S.I) said that excellence in the field of sciences and technology is a prerequisite to develop skilled manpower. It is one of the youngest institutions of HEC who has spread the canvas of Higher Education all over Pakistan by running its 7 campuses, well equipped with modernized labs and other requisite facilities. In this regard, Government is fully aware of rapid technological advancement around the globe. To improve the standards of education and research works being delivered in Universities, Government is sending around hundreds of faculty members every year on scholarships through Faculty Development Program under the supervision of HEC. The Government is putting in all its best. Now it s your responsibility to prove your metal.</td> </tr> <tr style="font-size: 12pt"> <td colspan="2" style="padding-right: 9px; padding-left: 9px; font-size: 13px; padding-bottom: 9px; color: gainsboro; padding-top: 9px; font-family: Arial; text-align: justify" valign="top"> At the 27th Convocation of CIIT, 752 students were awarded degrees in different disciplines. 56 students were awarded Gold Medals, 38 got silver and 32 students were awarded bronze medals on the basis of their outstanding performance in their academic careers.</td> </tr> <tr style="font-size: 12pt"> <td colspan="2" style="padding-right: 9px; padding-left: 9px; font-size: 13px; padding-bottom: 9px; color: gainsboro; padding-top: 9px; font-family: Arial; text-align: justify" valign="top"> From Islamabad campus 12 students got Institute Gold Medals, 5 students got silver and 5 students were awarded bronze medals.
